Steady Sense Clinic
Mr. Ivaylo Petrov
I am Mr. Ivaylo Petrov, BSc, BA, MSc, CPsychol, AFBPsS, MBACP, MISCP, founder of Steady Sense Clinic and a Chartered Psychologist* with an international career spanning the UK, Bulgaria, and Brazil. As an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a registered CBT psychotherapist with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I combine rigorous scientific training with a deeply client-centered approach. I am also recognized as a licensed psychologist in Bulgaria and as a Coaching Psychologist (MISCP) with the International Society for Coaching Psychology.
I have specialized extensively in clinical psychology and evidence-based psychotherapies, with full qualifications in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and advanced training in REBT, Schema Therapy, ACT, Systemic and Family Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, as well as the Interactional Helping Model developed by Lawrence Shulman. My clinical expertise includes assessing and treating adults experiencing common mental health difficulties, with particular focus on trauma, OCD, chronic pain, and complex relationship challenges.
In addition to therapy, I provide coaching for adolescents and adults, supporting both personal growth and professional development. At the core of my work is a belief in the human capacity for resilience and transformation. I integrate scientific knowledge with empathy and practical guidance to help my clients achieve recovery, balance, and lasting fulfillment.
I am Mrs. Patricia Williams-Petrov, BSc, MSc, MBPsS, a psychologist and psychotherapist. I graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). In 2007, I earned a master’s degree in Community Psychosociology and Social Ecology (EICOS/UFRJ), conducting research in areas such as youth development, health promotion, education, sexuality, and family dynamics.
As a qualified CBT psychotherapist I am working with both individuals and groups.
My professional experience spans clinical and educational settings, where I adopt a holistic, biopsychosocial approach in all interventions. I have extensive international experience, having expanded my practice from Brazil to the United Kingdom, working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
I specialize in supporting children, adolescents, first-time mothers, and families, providing counseling for parents and guidance for family well-being. In addition, I work extensively with adults experiencing mental health challenges, including stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties. Clinically, I integrate the Person-Centered approach with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and continuously refine my skills to provide effective, evidence-informed care tailored to each client’s needs.
I am also the author of several academic studies, including “Youth and Social Participation: Poor Youth in the Social, Community, and Political Context of Rio de Janeiro”, “Guidelines for Comprehensive Health Care for Adolescents, Both Sexes, Victims of Sexual Violence in Primary Care”, and “Social Disparities: The HIV/AIDS Epidemic as a Social Determinant of Health”.
